Compressed air dryers remove moisture content from compressed air. Moisture in compressed air can create issues for the tools, machinery, and equipment that utilize the air. Although they all perform the same basic tasks, there are many different types of compressed air dryers. Each type has a different way of achieving moisture reduction.​

Refrigerated Air Dryers
 

The refrigerated air dryer functions by cooling the incoming compressed air and extracting and draining the moisture. Refrigerated air dryers account for a majority of the compressed air dryer applications. There are two variations of refrigerated air dryers, cycling units or non-cycling units.

GTRC Series - Refrigerated Air Dryers

Cycling units automatically cycles the refrigeration compressor on and off in response to the inlet load conditions. They are better suited for conditions where the inlet load is not constant. The ability to cycle on and off products considerable energy-saving benefits.

Non-cycling units continually operate with the refrigeration compressor on, regardless of the load coming in. This style of compressed air dryer is ideal for situations where a consistent dew point is needed for operations.

Desiccant Air Dryers

With desiccant air dryers, the process of drying occurs by the compressed air traveling through a towers that contain a drying agent, the drying agent removes moisture through absorption and the drying process switches from one tower to the other with the system blowing the drying agent dry.
